Most of my glass has the golden ring around the objective end. But I have a Leopold .22 scope on a Ruger 77/22 that looks and feels cheap. So far it functions at intended.
I have a Burris Scout Scope on a Ruger ‘Gunsight Ranch’ scout rifle and a Vortex red dot on something else. No complaints about either.
Many of the well-known companies now market an inexpensive “economy” class. I avoid those as well as the Russian and Chinese glass.
