December 4: Reading some more in Selco’s book. Juggling work and cooking and making sure everyone has what they need. Cancer treatment plan is beginning to coalesce, and the patient DOES need a little pushing because she’s tired. Even came up with an acronym – doesn’t make much sense, but here it is: SKRAASH: <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Spiritual/emotional/psychological issues (take care of them), <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Ketogenic diet (75% of calories from fat, 20% from protein, 5% from carbs), <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Rest, <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Autophagy (induced by fasting), <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Alkalinity (slight), <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Anti-angiogenesis, <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Super nutrition, <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>High-intensity interval training (HIIT). Fresh air and sunshine should be in there, too, I guess.
Also thinking about how we would manage this if there was a collapse and certain things weren’t available, or we suddenly fell into poverty. The ketogenic diet might have to go, but there’s no reason the rest of it couldn’t work IF we have foraging skills and knowledge of the plants around us and what they do. Working on that.
Looking for ketogenic meal plans. Had shrimp and red-pepper omelets with spinach on the side tonight.
