Woke up this morning to a minor ice storm. Board of Public Utilities noted 1200 folks in our county without power due to ice breaking lines and trees. Thank goodness my neck of the county not affected as my generator is still acting up. May be time for a new one. Loving my new indoor gardening hobby! Spinach continues to grow but not yet big enough for salad. I did try transplanting a few this afternoon in individual pots made from plastic cups. My next goal before day is over is to plant the grocery store onion bottoms with the roots attached and see what happens. The celery I started from the cut off base of a store bought stalk continues to grow but ever so slowly it seems. The big problem for things i’m trying in the house is a lack of light. Still trying to figure out a way to get some shelving in a large south facing window. Oh, yes, trying to cut back on sugar and all I can think about are sweet things. I’ve managed to stay relatively small in my advancing years, but it wouldn’t hurt to drop a few pounds just to stay as fit as possible. Sorry for Rufus getting stuck in the mud, but loved her story about things she learned through the experience. Keeping the feet dry is important so I’m checking out my boots and socks also 🙂
