With our time difference I write this on 13th while for most of you it is still the 12th. Fell asleep yesterday very early in the evening. I was pretty tired. Yesterday afternoon after work I went to see a house for sale. It is a lovely house but considering the work and money that needs to be put in there it is not worth it.
I tried to call another farmer on the island which I helped getting bees for his crops last year. I heard he hasquite a lot of property. So I might just have a visit with this man. I love talking with farmers and their work.
In the late afternoon I went to an old friend old in the sense he is 80 years old he was released out of hospital yesterday. He has a little farm and a lot of fruit trees he had 4 bypasses with open heart surgery so he had to have his spirits up a bit. We talked about getting him some skep hives next spring. We talked about how where to put those and we had a good laugh or two (which was painful for him). But he got his spirits up and that was important for me.
I sorted out a lot of leifheit canning jars so I can do some winter canning: legumes! I am very low on canned beans.
about microwaves and dryers. I don’t have those. I had them in the past but not anymore. When they broke down I never replaced them. And to be frank, I don’t miss them. I don’t like to buy electricity appliances. It seems they break down in a certain time of use. For years I bought an electric water cooker/kettle for example and they lasted only for 2 years or so. I went back to the old fashioned kettle but it due to our politicians we have to go all electric and off the gas. Next year the average gas bill will be extra charged for at least 360€. The other day I bought a electric water cooker on a flea market for only 5€. Let’s see howling this one lasts. As said I don’t like electrical appliances and I have a lot of household items that are manual : grain mills, coffee grinder, other cutters.i like to use them and it doesn’t seem to make my life extra complicated.
