December 14: Took inventory of fats and oils and ordered ghee and olive oil from Thrive Market along with a few other things. Trying to make sure I have at least 3 months’ worth on hand. January/February is usually pretty lean. Also ordered herbs, dried greens, and candles, etc. from Frontier Coop – again, shooting for a 3-month supply at least. Horrified at the amount of money I spent, even if it is all wholesale prices. But that means I won’t have to spend it in January, February, and maybe even March.
In the bitter herbs department, got some more dandelions and put them in the food tonight. Daughter picked up some radicchio (a very bitter lettuce considered a delicacy) at the store, but just about fainted at the price. Thought it was worth it just once – now we need to grow it! Could make a fortune off of this stuff if we could grow it and sell it!
Soaking lentils tonight so I can make the lentil salad tomorrow for meal at church on Sunday.
Making lists for husband to go out shopping tomorrow for travel supplies and gifts – while I sit at the computer at home and work š
