Well, some sad news….my celery re-grow plant has succumbed to something. I thought moving it from my kitchen counter where it gets little light, to the tool shed under a grow light might do the trick. Whatever, I’m going to try again! I’ve been watching Root and Refuge youtube videos and she says we learn best from our failures, so I felt encouraged to not give up. Plus, the re-grow onions have at least 2″ growth in just a few sort days under the grow light. However, the spinach seems now to have just stopped growing. The lady on Root and Refuge said to check the soil. It may be too heavy. I don’t know but I’ll keep piddling with it as it gets me up out of my comfy chair and keeps me moving…important at 80. OldMtWoman is right about the darkness. I’m about to chicken out (definitely not in my character) for obviously I don’t need to fall. The last time the power went out and I was sitting in the total dark, I did fall getting up to go and retrieve a flashlight. When in the country and all light goes out it is truly dark! Hmmm…perhaps that should have shown me the importance of keeping a flashlight beside my favorite chair. Had ordered a manual coffee bean grinder which arrived today. Why are the instructions always printed in such tiny fonts? Even with my magnifying glass they’re almost impossible to read. May need to set aside for one of the grands to read and we’ll figure out how to make it gitty-up and go. To end on a happy note….my Baker Creek Heirloom Seed catalog arrived today. Wow…beautiful four color production with every type of seed imaginable! Definitely recommend it for your perusal.
