Awww, dear Muffy.  Do not give up on your ‘test run’ entirely.  They teach us so much, especially the unintentional ones.  So you already know you need A WHOLE BUNCH of small, $1 LED flashlites placed in strategic places.  Cuz whether you chose to go thru with this or not, a LIGHTS OUT situation can occur.  You’ll be ever so much more confident with some practice.  You might think of doing just several hours….part in daylight and part in the evening.  That way you’d have practice getting ready as the sun sets.  You ARE in an area where you’ll still be warm enough, right?  Cuz keeping warm w/o elect in winter is a whole ‘nother challenge.

Don’t actually shut off your gas…you know that, right?  I’ve always had to put notes everywhere to remind me that the lights, faucets, etc “don’t work today“.  EVEN when they’re really not working, how many times I’m standing there, dumbfounded, flipping the switch.  {roll eyes}

LOL …I do identify with those microscopic fonts on instructions!  IF they even include them at all.  It’s another prep I have – SUPER READER GLASSES!  I get the strongest I can find.  I also have several magnifying glasses.  I’ve been known to perch 2 pair of readers upon my nose and use an embroidery magnifying glass around my neck….when I’m removing a nasty splinter.  It gets to be a super-narrow field of clear focus….so you have to hold steady.  But I HATE working “blind”!  Just gimme a microscope, already!

Xant and AmyD …I hear you about elderlies who were [ just ‘yesterday’, wasn’t it? ] so able and teaching us.  And now…I’m hoping mine will be able to string lights on the tree and be ok.  🙁  But we cherish these last years with them!

Hope all you who don’t feel well will be getting better soon!  Good to be trying for a non-pharma type cure/restorative!  Try now before we’re forced to….  Elderberry is on my ToDo list…but it’s so far down that list.  🙁  Have store-bought.

Okay, since last nite I’ve been reading up on ‘camping’ knives, expedient shelter types, other folks’ ideas about BOB, primitive food-catching traps — including a fish one I didn’t think would work on our stream trout.  Not that I could travel to a stream in a Post-StuffHitsFan anyway…

I’ve read several articles: Comparing 1929 with our current times.  About the Farm Bill …which has at least one good thing [taking rope hemp off the Fed Regulated Drug List, for petes sake! ] but seems to have a lot of goodies for PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT FARMERS!!! Appalling!  …..business as usual?  😮

Since I’m barely walking today, that’s about it.
