Hi, all!!! I do look forward to reading all the posts. Feel as if I have new friends located in all sorts of places. I try to picture each one of you and cheer you on in your efforts to be prepared. Today has been an unusually BUSY day for me. I try hard to keep my days active but not too pressured; but, from early morning seems lots of things have sort of said “deal with me, now!” My indoor gardening effort continues: onions growing like crazy, spinach sort of sitting there not looking sad, just not prospering. But I’m still excited with my new hobby and handyman and I talked about his making me some raised beds this winter so I can start my seeds inside, then transplant when the weather gets right. I’m in TN so Spring starts around early April here. Went to bank this morning to put a bit more cash in my lock box. In a grid down, would banks close doors? It’s hard to know exactly what to do, but I think I’m in adequate shape financially compared to many. More importantly, I’m definitely not a “snowflake” and when the going gets tough, I typically meet the challenge head on, if that makes any sense. I use the cash-back type of credit cards and pay them off in full each month. That way I accumulate a bit of cash but more importantly can see more precisely how I’ve managed to spend my money each month with a statement printout. I’m keeping a bit of small bills tucked away where I can get to it easily as someone suggested. But, I live in a rural area where neighbors tend to help neighbors and in a serious, serious crisis, most folks around here are good folk. Now if things got really, really bad, I have a gun, I am trained and prepared to defend myself if need be. I raised three boys as a single mom, all of whom have turned out to be fine men, so there’s a bit of toughness in me behind my sweet Southern charm….Bless her heart. 🙂 Oh, yes. Went to Walmart today and bought a power bank for charging my I-Phone and I-Pad. I had previously bought a portable solar panel for charging the power bank. Gonna see if I can get that set up tomorrow and see how/if it works. Supposed to be a sunny day. I’m rambling now, so tomorrow ya’ll…
