DalaB…..wasn’t that dog supposed to be on rabies watch? Or has it been 2-3 wks already? Did you report it’s loose again? Yikes, either it’s an escape artist or the owners can’t be bothered which will end up being tragic for the aggressive dog. Awful that you have to be on the look out for that! Pepper spray may have gotten thru to the mutt tho.
RufusJ…so sorry to hear the glaucoma drops are not going to work …again. Hope your household gets to feeling much better soon.
Amy Dixon….I like looking at those pics of olde kitchen tools. I actually will recognize some, I think.
Xant…when I take dog for walk after dark or even getting dusk when I get a late start, I always wear a headlamp. I flash it across the road if a car is coming but then keep my head turned so I don’t flash the driver in the eyes. I just yesterday put an old blaze-orange vest in my truck too. Someone gave it to me years ago for riding horse on the road – to be more visible. I just found it and washed it. My clothing is very ‘earthy’ colors usually and dog is ‘road-colored’. We’re not very visible but I pull us both off the road when vehicle approaches. The ribbon on her retractable leash is yellow and kinda glows reflective. There are times you need to be seen, yeah?
Hieronyma….that’s a link I will save to explore. Looks interesting…useful!
Well… just as I would have gone to bed at 1am ..[or later]… last nite, I developed a nasty headache. I cannot lay down with my type of headache. I was up for several hours. Our Internet plan is limited but between 2 — 7AM, it’s all free. Sooo I pulled up my long bookmark list and began searching out PDFs that I hadn’t yet downloaded. THIS is when I do that. I’d saved several about suturing – when you are not a doctor, nor is one coming. I finally got Doom and Bloom’s [Joe/Amy Alton] huge medical book for post-Stuff-Hits-Fan. Quite a few studies on growing things in High Tunnels. [big hoop houses] Finally got to sleep around 4AM…. Glad to make use of the time tho.
I did not have a rematch with the magnesium block/ferro rod before starting pellet stove tonite. I was busy investigating/adjusting my newly-delivered disability device. I think this will work fine after taking off a couple of extraneous things. I like to keep it simple. Got a problem with the other device delivered yesterday. Not fitting right….might be able to alter part of it.
Replaced the PALlight, into the auxiliary hip pack of my BOB. [the part of BOB I’d grab if I had to run instead of drive…ahem, “running” being a rather euphemistic term in my case] I included in the packet: The empty PALlight which is merely rubber case not much bigger than the 9V it uses, plus lens. The 9V but not inside the light. And a piece of steel wool…..y’know…in case I need to make fire THAT way.
….and yes, tomorrow I’ll try making fire that way again. I can’t remember how it went when I did it a decade ago. Refresh memory but need to go outside for that one. Seems to be ‘Fire Week’ for me…tho being so dry outside, I’ll need a non-windy day to play safely with my toys.
OldMtWoman ….need bed!
