December 20: Have to delay the Christmas trip, maybe as much as a whole day, because of work. I’m bummed. A project manager gave me a job saying it was 16,000 words and it’s going to turn out to be over 20,000. Normally, that would be an extra 2 days, but we’re trying to get to our son’s house for Christmas, so I’m trying to do it in one. I’m mad at the ditzy, unreasonable project manager. I don’t want to lose the client, but I think I’m going to avoid this PM in the future.
So much for the rant. Today we finally got an emergency car kit all together. Husband and daughter did almost everything because I was stuck at the computer. Again. But daughter planned good meals for the trip and made sure we have everything we need, and husband made sure the car is in tip-top condition. It should be OK. Son told us to take a different route than usual because he felt our usual route would be too dangerous if bad weather hit. So we’re taking the long way around, for safety. Hope to leave by tomorrow afternoon and just drive until it’s time to find a hotel for the night.
