First day of winter. My dad was a dairy farmer and this was his favorite day of the year—days are getting longer and spring is on the way. He was up at 5am 24/7 for 60 years, so anything that made him happy made the rest of us happy!
My daughter and her family are on their way from Tennessee. Going to be a challenge to think prep with the 2 munchkins around. Before they get here, I’m making trays of cookies and bread to take to the neighbors. We have a police officer and a nurse across the street a family who does bow hunting next door and a very resourceful couple behind us. Having a good neighbor and friend is paramount when disaster strikes. The couple on the other side of us will most likely be on their own if shtf. They have called the sheriff and the health department with complaints about all of us, all unsubstantiated. I do pray for them because I think they must have mental health issues. They don’t talk to anyone so I may be wrong.
