I learned a lesson in being prepared today that I wasn’t expecting. I went to the children’s museum today with 6 other adults and 3 grandkids. When I was in an exhibit with the 12 year old I got very hot and lightheaded. I had no water, no candy, no snacks to raise my blood sugar. I sat down in the commons area while my grandson got in line to hold a spot for his cousin on the winter slide. I could see him and didn’t want him to be alarmed. I was able to call my son after I sat for awhile and kept my head down. He texted my daughter and after some apple juice, graham crackers and water I felt better. If I had been alone I would have had a very hard time staying alert. I would not have had anything to eat or drink to help. A few pieces of candy in my purse was all I would have needed and will have from now on.
