Christmas greetings, everyone. A lot of family times beginning. Good friends too. That’s the best part.
I’m so very physically worn out…but I dropped all the gifts we’re bringing in to gift bags. Tried to look decorative with colored tissue paper but I have to say this will be the least inspired effort I’ve ever put forth. [Conservation of Energy!] We keep all gift boxes [the shirt box size mostly] and all manner of gift bags. We reuse even the tissue paper if it isn’t mangled. We’ve been passing the same gift bags/boxes back and forth for 2 decades. LOL Now and then we have to renew a couple that get torn up. I just was not up for trying to access the gift wrap paper rolls that are stored just under the eaves in the loft. [a loft that is 4′ high at the peak, btw ] So ..that’s done.
I got a tiny bit of decluttering/vacuuming done too. And discovered that somehow a glass jar had broken on the lowest shelf. Probably got bumped/kicked and the bottom just snapped off the top. Fortunately it wasn’t a canning jar…tho they were on the same shelf. All are empty in that shelving unit, thankfully. I duct-taped the broken jar and pieces into a box for trash. Vacuumed the glass dust and dumped the vacuum canister. I LOVE my new vacuum! The design has actually improved since I last bought one. [ahem….usually I think they are making worse design.]
The day was nice enough to run water thru 350′ of hoses to fill horse water tank again. Always glad when that’s full. Frigid weather makes that impossible. Ran to our rural communal mailboxes ..twice…and the second time a box from the kids had arrived. Not sure if they got ours or not. Sadly they have health troubles right now with a very elderly member on the other side of the family.
My sole decoration for Christmas….tho I LOVE Christmas decorations [Conservation of Energy!]…is a very tiny Nativity set. It fits into a box the size of a pack of cards – which is why I can keep it handy enough to use it on the brick hearth. Has everyone….angel, a shepherd with 2 sheep, donkey/cow/camel, wise men, and Mary/Joseph/Jesus. I made a ceramic set nearly this small a very long time ago. Painted it in great tiny detail. Gave it to a good friend….long ago. I think this one reminds me of her…and I’ve long since lost track of her. Missed the candle light service tonite….[Conservation of Energy]. Just not able this year.
Almost ready to go to elderlies tomorrow….have to put together the potato salad yet. Then bed early, I think.
OldMtWoman …g’nite all
