December 21 & 22: Learned a lot about myself. I need to improve work planning and pre-packing. Bea Johnson of Zero Waste Home has a great packing video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_ZwE2IUxyk).  I want to come up with a cross between a BOB and a pre-packed bag for travel that’s always ready.  We got off way too late on the 21st. Then we went the “safer” route pointed out by son and still got stuck in the mountains in pea soup fog and unable to see in front of us – in the dark. I learned that I am not as calm as I need to be. Started crying after about a 100 hairpin turns in that fog. Horrible. But evidently it was a better choice than the other route, which included a giant snow storm.

December 23: Went to church with son and family. Glad to not be traveling.

December 24: Went shopping in larger town nearby. I was really bad about making Christmas gifts ahead this year. One of my New Year’s resolutions will be to work less and have more of a life – and time to prep.

December 25: Nice, quiet Christmas day with family. Delightful.

December 26: Starting list and plans for next year’s prepping and financial goals. I think I will be more focused this next year. Perhaps even a move is in order – but we’ll see. Daughter has cancer surgery on January 10, so starting the medical prep for that tomorrow. Really enjoying little granddaughter.
