After all the holiday visitors, I am exhausted. I am recovering today.
Today is about leftovers and meal planning for the next week. I was pretty good on buying food for the holidays. We cooked from scratch.
I was amazed on the fact that some of my visitors just wanted to toss leftovers. I can see why the average US household wastes/tosses over 20% of the food bought. I am really looking at how much I waste and keeping it to a minimum. I even try not to throw food out by composting and feeding items to birds etc. I estimate that I throw away less than 2% of my food. Let’s just say my visiting family doesn’t seem to get this concept.
I am continuing reading my new cook books and gardening books. I am planning on planting a garden this year. Last year, my garden was very minimal but this year I plan to plant more items.
I started an inventory of my planting items here in Pennsylvania. I am setting them all aside to take on my next trip up to New York. Each trip I am filling the back of the SUV. One step or one load at a time. I am on schedule to list the Philadelphia house in late April.
