Really got behind due to the holidays. On the 23rd, I worked on getting all the presents done, boiled and peeled more eggs for deviled eggs for the Christmas dinners. Read a good article about dry canning flour, sugar, and beans. On the 24th, took a dozen eggs and a pretty tin of peppermints as a hostess gift for one of the get togethers. Was gratefully accepted. Had a good get together and got a pretty reusable bag, some velvet covered hangers, and some money in lieu of a gift card to get what I wanted. The 25th, went to a Christmas luncheon and gave the same hostess gift. My chickens have kicked in on laying and seems like the colder it gets, the better they do. Started researching some glasses online as I have a FSA use it or lose it with $90 left in and I need a back up pair of glasses. The 26th, I went to the post Christmas sales and got some big tins that I can use to put items in and stack in the closet. Also, use the money to re-stock on some of the items that I needed. A very good Christmas present I believe. I also bought a used propane stove for a $100 for the new house. It is in good condition and can be used when the electric is out. The 27th, the floor of my home got completed and it really made the whole house look different. I am using the scraps of the floor to repair a couple of chairs. I did also pick up some wood glue, a couple of turtleneck shirts, and a couple of pairs of leggings with the rest of the Christmas money. I was very pleased with my gifts this year. I researched wood stoves as they are on sale at TSC. I need to pick up one soon while they are on sale.
