Wow this is great info. It is really nice to sit here and read what others are really doing to prep for whatever lays ahead of us. Today I went to walmart and found rice for 78 cents a lb. Was going to hit the dollar tree but Walmart beat that price. Got 20 bags for our church food ministry. Found Christmas cards for 1/2 price. So good for next Christmas. Got some canned meat as well on sell. Hubby loves the underwood deviled ham. Makes for a quick lunch. Also found something I had never seen before. Ricos Premium Cheddar cheese. 15 oz. cans. I bought 2 of them to try. It is an aged cheddar cheese sauce. If we like it, I am going to add to my preps. We are debating if hubby will be able to handle doing a garden again next year. He is now 81 years young but lots of health problems. Has defibilator and pacemaker and he gets tired much easier now. This year has been a bit harder on him. Though we have hired someone to do the yard work. I am going to try to do garden on my own and get son in law to till up the area. We have done a garden for years but this past summer we cut it in half so hubby could keep up. I am getting ready to clean out my pantries or really 2 bedroom closets that have been turned into pantries. We do not have a basement nor a pantry in this house. So I have 3 closets and underbed storage. Going to be canning the meat from my freezer. I have enough beef to make veg. beef soup and also chicken soup. I have 2 turkey breast in freezer as well as ham. Going to be canning a lot of meat soon. Got a deal on the hams for 37 cents a lb and I couldn’t let it pass. Haven’t seen ham that cheap in a long, long time. Also got to figure out a way to have a southern facing area to grow some lettuce and other things indoors during winter time. So going to have to move some furniture around. Going to be getting new air conditioner soon as well as have my fireplace worked on. I want it so I can use it both for heat and to cook in if the need arises. This will keep me busy for a while so more later when i catch up.
