As of yesterday we have an official flu epidemic. I hope everyone here who is feeling not their normal selves: take care of yourself! Better take some extra rest and get well faster.
I took it easy too today and feel much better after a couple of Days rest.
Today I made mushroom rice in a jar. Only add water and I have another meal starter. I canned the lentils today because I’m on duty and last night when I was about to start canning I had a call for a social safety issue incident. So spent the whole evening on the phone taking care of things.
Today I started early but saw that the Lentils were sprouting… I canned them anyway. I think it will be the new food hype: canned sprouted legumes😂
two jars of white beans and two jars of lentils didn’t seal so I put them in the dehydrator. Together with olives. I like to have dehydrated olives to use in recipes. So every once in a while I buy a couple of very big cans of olives and put them in the dehydrator
I have two Excalibur dehydrators but one doesn’t work. I’m trying to find out how and where to buy spare parts in the USA. So I can use both of the dehydrators again .
I ordered a couple of books about beans and dehydrating. Also an old reader digest about growing and preserving your own food.
I think a lot about the things I do and why I feel it is important to do. I don’t talk about it much with my friends or family. My own two teenage girls think I’m a total nutter (“ I never asked for a mom who -fill in the blank-“ ). That is why I love to read all your stories. Everyday! It is inspiring and keeps me motivated. More over it is such a good feeling not to be alone… tomorrow is the last day of the month. I hope we do get a new thread continuing in the new year.., for me there is no need to win a book, I buy what I can from daisy and selco, not only to learn but also to support the fantastic work they are doing. I hope we can continue sharing our daily stories.
