We went to a gun show this afternoon (Dec 30). The people are fascinating to watch and sometimes one can find good deals. A lot of folks were there– surprising since it was just after Christmas and the weather wasn’t great. Lots of buying and selling, deal making and jaw wagging, and shooting the breeze. One guy was selling bump stocks but no one seemed interested. We picked up some great tamales that are made locally (yay!) and a couple of hemostats. No corn dogs though, which disappointed DH. He’s been craving a corn dog for about a month now. And we saw some things we didn’t expect, like the New Age booth. It had mostly oils, crystals and smudge sticks, and a booth that had some dogs for adoption. We found a few things pertaining to prepping there– Berkey filters and big cans of seeds, jerky merchants… but not as much as we thought there’d be. And only one bookseller and his prices were high. As we left, a girl was selling Worlds Finest Chocolate Bars, the same kind that we bought on the playground at school when we were kids. So of course we bought one. It gave us a chance to chat with her and convince her we really were old fogies.
