I’m in……..and late to the party!!  I have the worst internet ever!  Each loaded page is an eternity of waiting.  It’s ALMOST as bad as dial up was.  But, anywho…….. On New year’s day, I roasted a farm raised pork loin.  (my brother provides the farm-raised, as I don’t have a “farm” big enough for livestock……yet).  The glazed carrots were canned from my garden and the deviled eggs were from my chickens.  The ice tea was brewed on the wood stove fired by wood that my husband and I harvested from behind the hen house.

Jan/2 I am cleaning the bathroom with a mixture of water and hydrogen peroxide.  We have hard water and this takes the brown stains off the porcelain.  I use a cleaner of water, white vinegar, and a couple drops of dawn dish soap in a spray bottle to clean all hard surfaces.  For supper today, we are having harvard beets, from the garden.  roasted baby potatoes, from the garden (almost out ot those)  and biscuits, made from scratch.  I wish that the biscuits were sourdough, but that died and I just haven’t gotten another started..This month would be a good time for that.  We have left-overs galore in the refrigerator, so I don’t cook too much until they are gone.

Well, I’m off to do the laundry, laundry powder is one box borax, one box washing soda, four bars fels naptha, and a pint jar of baking soda.  I grate the fels naptha and then just mix all together in a bucket and use a coffee scoop,  I think that is 1/4 cup size.  My husband works in smelly fluids……diesel, gear oil, kerosene etc…….and this is what I’ve found removes the most of the odors.
