Today and yesterday, I cooked from scratch.

For breakfast, I made eggs plus a side (skillet potatoes) on the wood stove. I am getting much better with regulating the temperature.

For lunch both days, I made salad with salmon and avocados with a home made dressing.

After reading Daisy’s blog, I wanted to make pasta from scratch. I went to get my manual pasta maker. I have a great Kitchen Aid with all the accessories, but I have the manual as a backup. I looked where that manual gadgets are and no pasta maker. I also noticed that a couple other items appear to be missing (copper set of pans, additional cast iron cookware, Staub, tools). I then got worried and tore the house and shed apart. Those items are missing!

I sent a text to the most likely culprit, my cousin. No answer, but I can tell he received and read the text. Yes, I remember his comment a couple months ago– “Why do you need those things if you don’t use them? I could sell them and make some money!”. I had proceeded to explain two is one concept and manual backup. I am quite sure that he helped himself to them and sold them. In his mind, I wasn’t using the items, so he was entitled.

Back to the pasta, I found the Kitchen Aid mixer and pasta attachment. While pitching a fit, I made some really good pasta to go along with my homemade gravy (Philly speak for red sauce with meat). I have tons of leftovers, which I will enjoy over the next few days.
