Just saw “Edge of Darkness” again after many years.
What struck me about the movie was the very real attitude that comes with the comment used a couple of times in the movie.
“In Massachusetts, everything is illegal.”
Seems to apply to Kommiefornia also.
How many years was pot illegal in CA? Yet it was so commonplace that SFPD members openly stated that 50% of the drivers they contacted were under the influence. Not arguing any alleged benefits to the junk but if the people are so willing to just ignore a simple law like ‘no pot’ or even ‘don’t beat your domestic partner’, what can we expect from any legislation?
Its merely a feel good solution, whether or not it actually does anything is immaterial to those in power. It shows that they care and are doing something. Legal or not.
