Hard cleanout of the fridge, pantry, freezer. Anything that was edible went to either the chickens or the pigs. Re-use what we can’t eat. Not nearly as much food wasted as I thought! The pigs dined on leftover food scraps (no pork), recycled (untreated) Christmas tree branches, and pumpkins we grew in stumps over the summer. The chickens jumped in and out of the pig’s home paddock and helped themselves to the buffet.
Opened up a new box (thanks for the box Amazon) of soap I made last year. Home made lye and lard. Scented with chamomile from my property. Only purchase was caster oil as my kids just have to have suds when washing. I followed the instructions from WikiHow to make my Lye over the summer.
