Cooked meals from scratch today.

Made dog treats with about 4 oz of leftover turkey & gravy, about 4 oz sweet potatoes mashed, 2 cups whole wheat flour, 2 eggs, and 2 tblsp veg oil with enough water to make dough you can roll out..  Rolled out, put on ungreased cookie sheet, cut in squares before baking and baked till done, then cut again on same lines, cooled, put in jar.  I don’t remember temp and time but I think 350 degrees and about half hour.  Maybe check after 20 minutes.  The dough was not at all hard to roll out.

Also made soda crackers:                                                                                                                                            4 1/2 cups flour        1/2 cup butter or margarine                                                                                                     1/2 teasp soda            1 1/2 cups water                                                                                                                      1/2 teasp salt               salt for tops of crackers                                                                                                           Combine dry ingredients, cut in butter, add water, stir till just mixed, turn out dough on floured surface & knead till smooth, roll out 1/4th at a time on floured surface till 1/8 inch thick, Cut in squares, place on ungreased cookie sheet pierce with fork and sprinkle with salt and bake at 350 for about 20 minutes.

I used butter and cut recipe in half.  Crackers were tasty but very crisp. They were not quite like soda crackers. I think I overbaked them -so back to the drawing board and I will try using more soda next time.  I used two balls of dough and second batch I sprinkled on salt and rolled it in with rolling pin instead of sprinkling it on after putting on cookie sheet..
