It’s January and I always have a renewed desire to save a little more.  We clean out, donate, eat in and get our house in order. We are basically scratch eater anyway, so that part is pretty easy. For the past 3 days, I have been having salads made with our hydroponic Romaine lettuce, stale bread croutons, and vinegarette. Deer and rabbit have been on the menu too.  I have been experimenting with vanilla and melatonin to relax the reflux and ACV to get the acid up in my stomach, as I suffer from high pH.  I made a carburetor linkage at work today out of jewelry findings because the part was discontinued and sharpened all the blades instead of installing new ones on the chain saws and mowers. We archived the records from last year in binders we pulled from the dumpster at a property we were working on.  A cruddy tshirt was washed and cut into circles for the kombucha jars and the rest was cut up small and put in the compost pile.  Trying my best to use what I have and find creative solutions. This kind of reminds me of the year we didn’t buy anything new. We were dead broke and living in a condemned trailer with no appliances and no health insurance. I begged and borrowed and got creative.
