OldMansd – There’s what sounds like a fairly simple ketchup recipe (without any unusual spices) at this webpage: http://www.littlehouseliving.com/homemade-ketchup.html Also, I’ve been wanting to try this recipe from the Food Network: “Sun-Dried Tomato Ketchup Puree 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes with 1 tablespoon of the oil from the jar, 2 tablespoons cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1/4 teaspoon each cayenne and ground ginger and 1/4 cup water until smooth.” It sounds interesting but, of course, it requires sun-dried tomatoes which, unless you dry them yourself, can be a bit pricey.
