We are a multi-generational household. My spouse and I live with my youngest daughter and her three boys ages 14, 12 and 2. Spouse and I are big do it yourselfers but daughter and grands are definitely not! This is going to be quite a challenge for us. I do 99% of the cooking so scratch meals won’t be much of a problem. The real challenge is going to be keeping my daughter from running out to the nearest grocery store for quick and easy (processed frankenfood). She’s also a big fan of chemical laden cleaning and laundry products To that end I’m working on diy convenience foods this week. Last night I made fruit roll-ups for the kids with a #10 can of applesauce from the pantry. I’ve got a couple of pounds of lean ground beef marinating for beef jerky. There’s a canning jar full of vinegar and orange peels steeping on the window sill for an easy all purpose spray cleaner. While the jerky is drying I’m making pizza dough to build some frozen pizza’s. It’s a start.
