@ old Mt Woman- after thinking about it a while I thought that might be it. His year I’ve got to make time to go to the range.
Mullein- the Indians used to use mullein seed to put in the water to catch fish as it stuns them and they could hand pick them up then. Illegal to do now but interesting. I see that a number of us gather and use herbs for medicine and tea.
Not quite the time of year now but I like to gather Balm-of-Gilead (Balsam Poplar) buds in late winter to use for a salve for minor skin ailments. I have picked them, soaked them in olive oil for a month or so and combine with beeswax, then pour into containers. It smells nice like evergreen too.
