In addition to yesterday’s post items, I had to do major surgery on the vacuum cleaner. The good news is that I was able to fix it; the bad news is that I may need to get a new one soon as I having problems finding parts for my old Hoover (yes it was my Great Aunt’s from the 1960s). The construction is all metal.
My guests arrived late afternoon with goodies, tons of fresh food and medical supplies (my kind of house warming/hostess gift). We had a wonderful dinner, oysters and fresh fish, all from scratch.
This morning my guests made breakfast from scratch. When I woke this morning, the temperature was a balmy -10 with a wicked wind (guessing wind chill -20). The wood stove kept the place all nice and warm. My one guest is so intrigued by it that he even got up in the middle of the night to fill it with wood. We also googled more uses of wood ash so I can try more. We did use some wood ash this morning on the slippery driveway and walk ways.
