January 6. Spent the day putting my bulk herbs in glass jars (I love Mason jars!), labeling and putting on an inventory sheet. Brought in my little red hen that has an eye thingy going on. It’s terribly red and swollen and it’s cold and damp and she just isn’t getting better on her own, even though I’ve added ACV and oregano oil to everyone’s water. No one else seems to have a problem so I thought I’d better isolate her.
Put her in a plastic pet carrier with a soft towel. Started warm compresses and hand feeding her with a dropper water with probiotics and some diluted cat food. She ate and drank. A lot. Then put some antibiotic ointment on it and put her to bed. Started making a pint of colloidal silver with my generator for tomorrow for her and me. Set up an infusion of nettle leaf to steep overnight (in a Mason jar) for me for tomorrow and will feed her the wet leaves in the morning.
January 7. Started her (and me) on colloidal silver. She looked a little better this morning, but after two feeds with a pipette of the silver she looks a LOT better. Continuing with the warm compresses and hand feeding. Set up a sick bay inside with a big dog crate I had folded up outside. Used a big piece of cardboard from the TV we got for Christmas that I was going to recycle (glad I didn’t) for the bottom and some puppy pads left over in my stash when I had an incontinent cat a few years ago who finally died at 18. Added a box for red hen to hide under if she wants. The eye is now open and the swelling has gone down some. Less hot and red. Put some Bacitracin on it, too. She likes to be held. Going to muck out the coop in a bit and spread some diatomaceous earth I have in the shed around. Going to feed some of the nettle leaves to the flock as well.
I had an outbreak of hives this morning (happens a lot). One dose (1 ounce) of colloidal silver and it went right down. Normally I would take a Zyrtec. Why had I forgotten how easy it is to make my own colloidal silver and how powerful it is?
