Well, using homemade pasta and cheese sauce I tried my hand at a house favorite, ground beef and pasta (that usually comes in a box).

The verdict was meh…..needs more work.  Ah well, it wasn’t toss it the trash and order a pizza level of bad, but it wasn’t a go back for seconds level of good either.

The cheese sauce was “gritty”, I think using only sharp cheddar was the issue there. Maybe a mix of white cheese with the cheddar would be better. The pasta was ok, but I didn’t do a very good job forming it into macaroni with the pasta press, so that’s just a learning curve. I can see how flat noodles would be easier.

Next time I think I will just do meatballs, flat noodles, and sauce instead of trying to recreate the boxed one.
