Today for lunch I tried out a bag of shelf stable diced chicken (Tyson). Sauted it in olive oil, added leftover brown rice and some Pesto from a jar I had in the cubboard. Oh yes this is a eatable product.
I have been buying and trying canned and shelf stable meats. I have over the years used canned tuna, Spam, corned beef, vienna sausages, deviled ham. But I want more options in the cabinet for emergencies. Dak ham was not something I will try again. Freeze dried chicken and sausage are both good. I bought the Thrive brand.
In spare time I am crocheting an afghan. It sits by my chair so I can grab it to work on in my spare time. In red, white and blue I will donate it to Hospice House when it’s done. They give a patriotic one to each Veteran that comes there.
Tonight is pork steak, potatoes, peas.
