Made breakfast and dinner from scratch.  Cooked chicken in instant pot for dinner and also after that cooked some beans and ham that needed to be done or frozen and will now freeze that and try using later.  Would use it for tomorrow but we are heading south to a grandaughter’s birthday party after Church and then later after Church in the evening, we will travel further south to stay with my parents for a couple of days.

For DIY today, I have a file that does not have a handle so I went to town and found a sale on a couple of old files that were fairly old and was able to refinish them today and keep one as it is but with refinished handle and the other holds my big file.  Saved money doing it this way without buying a new handle and the best part after that was the big handle was made out of oak and after sanding off the years of gunk and grease, it turned out super.

Also working on a leather bag to make and am trying out my hand at carving leather.  It is a kit I got some time ago but it is a good learning experience for me.  After watching a video on it I found out that I needed a piece of granite to do my work on so I called a granite outfit here in Astoria and they gave me a small piece for free.  Saved money on that.

Here are the two handles on the piece of granite

Also due to having my smoothies and better dinners with less sugar, I was able to hit a milestone that is pretty big for me…I was able to go into a work clothing place here in town and buy a pair of jeans off the rack that actually fit me for the first time in about 20 plus years.  Helps you to stay committed to eating and living in a more healthy way.  Just like this website is working on this month.  Not eat the bad and go for the good as much as you can.

Good night to all
