MollyM…this closet of yours is becoming quite the saga. Glad you had help with ..HOW MANY nails/screws? Whew!
RE…new thread on Weather including Solar Minimum… I can transfer data to there. I haven’t actually looked to see HOW to start a new thread. Anyone want to start it and we can dump info there?
Question: is anyone else having trouble FINDING threads they’ve participated in but can’t find them again unless someone posts a new response? I’ve lost at least three. I did find one using search function. I must be missing a pattern here.
Was a rest day after dealing with weather issues these past days. DH at work so I feed our animals in P.M. Going down to barnyard, I always take my truck cuz coming back up STEEEEP driveway is ok somedays and nigh-onto-impossible other days. Tonite I was out after dark and the cold settled in. The high today was a lovely 40*. But after sun sets in mountains on a very starry clear nite, we’re now below ZERO. Yuk.
Anyway, I tried to unlock and turn the mechanism to lift the window of my truck’s topper. XL dog jumps in when I get tailgate down and rides there. Tonite I could NOT get the handle to turn, releasing the window. FROZEN and would not be budged for all my whacking on it.
Thus could not lower the tailgate. Thus could not get dog into truck. Thus we walked down and then UP, trailing a child’s sled behind me with the poultry water jug. Would not even consider going down by myself without the dog. Esp. after dark with our wildlife…or I could fall. She guards me very well and would [rightly] have a FIT if I left her behind. She’s good as Early Warning….ears and nose.
Well we did just fine…finished chores. I hooked dog’s retractable leash to carabiner on my belt and also the rope to the sled pulled behind me. Left my hands free to use two dead aspen saplings as walking sticks. My usual ski pole…aka: walking assist stick was unavailable – inside frozen truck topper. I usually keep it unlocked to avoid this persistent problem. Hmph! I keep old broomsticks, sticks, and such stashed everywhere just for these situations. Two are definitely better….bi-lateral support! We zoomed right up. Dog is trained to assist me if I need it…a grip on her body harness. But this worked fine.
ACK…It’s MINUS 9 degrees. Hope our power doesn’t go out cuz we don’t have a wood stove like LovingLife
