Today, I went to my post office box. The US Mail doesn’t deliver to my address, so I have to pick up. I guess that means I am really rural. Lol! In my post office box, I had a gift from a friend. She sent me her manual pasta maker. (All because of DC , that @$$ thief. Karma will get him).
With this new pasta maker (never used), I hurried home and yes I made pasta from scratch! I also made my famous Mama’s meatballs and gravy (for those non-Italians that red sauce with meat and tons of spices). I can’t give you the recipe as it’s a family recipe.
No, I didn’t make it all on the woodstove, but next time I will attempt to make the sauce on the woodstove.
Very cold and icy here, so I continued to use the wood ash as an ice melt.
For those that are getting a little discouraged on the “contest” factor, the biggest prize is all the things you learn. Last month, I qualified for Selcos book, but I had previously purchased it. My prize is that this forum keeps me going on my road to further self sufficiency. Plus I get to read everyone’s adventures, especially @Muffy1938 and @oldmtwoman. Those gals keep me entertained and you never know what they will be up to next.
PS I am auditting as I went to the dark side early in the month. I had a beer and munchies with a HOT law enforcement officer after target practice. @daisy, does it count if he picked up the tab? Lol!
