This is a good (long) article about all the backpacking stoves…how to use them safely. His comments about manufacturers statements and Lawyers are amusing. I have several of these stoves.
He thinks the Bleuet ..or piercing butane/propane canister stoves are not safe. I see they are still sold on Ebay and are widely used in Europe. Often sold as GAZ. I have a few… stoves, lamps and a heater.. and a stockpile of canisters. I will use with care in the future. The danger is from leaks around the seal, and maybe overheating of the canister.
