Haven’t posted in a couple of days. Here’s my update: On January 15th, I did several hours of online research about smallpox, its potential use as a bioterror weapon, and the two types of smallpox vaccines. It was really interesting (and scary) to read about. Years ago I read Dr. Michael Osterholm’s book “Living Terrors”, which prompted me to begin serious efforts to prepare for SHTF scenarios. On January 16th, I placed my order for a Mockmill 200 (yeah!), which should arrive in 4-5 days. I also drove to a larger town in a nearby state to have lunch with a friend. Before driving home, I stopped off at the outlet store of an apple products’ store. They often well used 55-gallon blue barrels for $20 U.S. plus tax. Unfortunately, the only barrel they had available that day was of a light beige colored plastic and didn’t seem suitable for water storage – so I passed it up. I’ll check again the next time I visit that town.
