I am really enjoying reading about everyone’s activities, and they are inspiring.
Jan. 16: Worked on developing “routines”. I know these are really valuable when you get tired – have to think about building on these. Daughter gradually healing. Made out menus for the next 2.5 weeks to take advantage of mostly storage food, if possible, because January is turning out to be a rough month financially.
Jan. 17: Finally got out of the house for the first time since last Friday, when we got back from the hospital. Left husband in charge of taking care of daughter and there were no disasters 🙂 The home nurse has shown up several times to check the surgical site, but no bath help yet, so I pulled out the homemade dry shampoo today and cleaned daughter’s hair the best I could. Also found out that our priest will be coming to lunch on Jan. 31 to bless the house – Orthodox homes are supposed to be blessed by the parish priest between Theophany in early January and the start of Lent, and our family’s date falls on Jan. 31. Now I “really” have the motivation to get things de-junked and super clean!!
A question for all – does anyone know if a “capped” well can be re-opened and used? Our house used to be on well water, and some of them in the neighborhood still are, but it was connected to municipal water about a year before we bought it. What does “capping” a well even mean? I suppose I could ask in another forum if necessary. At any rate, if possible, I’d really like to get that well working again with a manual pump.
