Tonight it was leftover spaghetti and beef stew. Again not enough of either for a full meal so folks just got to choose whichever one they wanted. I added homemade biscuits from the freezer. No complaints so far. Tomorrow will have to be another food prep day. I’ll be baking bread, making more biscuits and planning the menu for the week ahead. This challenge has really helped me see how far I’ve gotten away from the frugal ways I used to do things when my kids were little and money was harder to come by. Got a new seed catalog in the mail. I’ve been planning the garden and saving milk cartons for winter sowing seeds. It’s finally gotten cold enough that I can start planting without too much worry that things will sprout too soon. There’s nothing like cold winter weather to make me long for a fresh vine ripened tomato straight from my own backyard. I’ve got a long weekend ahead so I’m hoping to catch on a few more projects. We’re down to the last bit of laundry soap so making that will be a priority.
