Greetings, All.

Temperatures finally went below zero today.  We laid in plenty of wood so our wood stove will help keep things warm.

Mountain Granny, you were talking about S.A.D. I have it and it can be serious.  I also have a lamp. I start using it before Halloween, actually nearly equinox to equinox.  I can tell when I have not had enough light.  It is easy to have the light on during breakfast and while I check my computer first thing in the morning.  NOTE:  If “you” get a SunBoxx, use it only in the morning.  If you use it later in the day, it could reset your biological clock.

Yesterday, I made Flemish Pork Stew. Recipe from Pork Be Inspired.com.  Basically, just a pork stew with a bottle of beer added.  Hubby bought Stout for it.  It was really good. We will definitely do that one again.

I keep recipes on my computer.  When we find one we like, I add it to a folder labeled “Our Favorites.”  So, in there it goes.  But not the tuna sandwich one.  It was fine, mix up the tuna with herbs and other stuff and fry it, with a pineapple slice.  It was not really worth the trouble of frying it.  But, if I have 52 cans of tuna, and if I need to eat one can a week, I need 52 different recipes.  Guess I keep looking.

I am about ready to put together the Lentil Cottage Pie.  It smells good with Rosemary, Thyme, and Bay plus red wine.  It will make way to much for the two of us, so I am dividing it into bread pans so two can be frozen.  Hopefully it tastes as good as it smells.

I spent time yesterday learning Morse Code.  There is an online class called “The Morse Whisperer.”  The instructor takes just 3 letters and one number for each lesson, and there are seven lessons.  I hope i will be able to “hear” the alphabet by the end of the month before our Ham Club’s Meeting.

Nice chatting with everyone and reading your posts.  Hopefully this winter will go fast and the snow will stay away from those of you who have gotten more than you are used to.
