Yes, I am prepping for this winter storm. Its actually just double-checking my lists to make sure all is still up to speed.

At the beginning of the winter season, I do the big get ready and then every storm I just do a few things on my checklist, like check amount of firewood, fuel in snowblower, ice melt (now I just use my wood ash), and position lanterns/flashlights.

The big thing is going to the dump. Most in my area are ready food wise, so the grocery store is not mobbed. Instead, the dump is mobbed as everyone gets rid of their trash and recyclables. It becomes a social event. People here in the North Country are very polite about it all.

Our forecast is for 14-18 inches. Being in the higher elevations means I usually get double that amount, so I am expecting up yo 3 feet. It also means I should expect a power outage.

Accordingly, I carry a pair of snowshoes in my SUV. I have worked on my snowshoeing and skiing.

I am off to enjoy the snow 🙂
