I store 16 buckets under my twin mattress a friend of mine stores mylar bags in their box spring, have used the buckets for end tables before too. A bed skirt covers the ones under the mattress. You can make coffee table with mason jars in crates too, it is cute for the meals in a jar stuff, or you can run fabric with a little velcro around it if you don’t want it seen (depending on where you live or who your around) lots and lots of places to put things depending on your circumstances.
In a tiny home you can put your emergency candles in the small mason jars, put sand paper on the lid, throw a couple of matches in so you have them when you need them, the punch a hole the lid and hang it on the beam that hold your loft up. You can store herbs, nails and screws and spices this way too. although I like the magnet board idea for the spices better. You can also store a tiny first aid kit that way.
