Amy Dixon – thank you so much for the ideas for using my Food Saver!!! I’m looking at the special attachments for sealing glass canning jars. My shelf space is not conducive to the #10 size cans so resealing in smaller sized units makes more sense for me.
Today’s from scratch meal was beef stew using the meat I pulled from the soup bones I cooked yesterday and adding beef broth in place of water. Not great, but not bad…recipe I used says it freezes well so as I ended up with three large helpings, I’ll probably try freezing one serving and eating the other later this week. Cooking for one can become most challenging; hate to end up with too much left-over…gets boring before I can finish off.
We had our first bonafide snow last night, so many churches closed this morning ’cause highways were so icy from earlier rain….maybe 3-4 inches but it seems to be melting pretty well on roads as sun finally popped out this afternoon!!!
I love living where we enjoy 4 beautiful seasons….none last too long so by mid-March we’ll begin to see hints of Spring to come…yeah.
