AmyDixon…..Thanks! I put the No Rinse Shower Cap on my permanent Shopping List. I’ve got the bath-size wipes in our BO kits. But hadn’t heard of that product. I don’t even have cornstarch/arrow root powder [thanks Hieronyma] in the Hygiene box. ….missed that and I have longer/thick hair.
Well, life just got more….and then MORE ….difficult. DH will be leaving for most of this week. Family emergency and he must go. A LOT of scrambling around while we get ready for him to go and for me to be here ….alone. Oh boy…..I don’t drive more than a few miles on these gravel roads. I don’t DO highway speeds. Means I can’t get to our elderlies and they can’t get here to help me. He and I both have to have extra cash …JIC! Tomorrow he will shop for a few basics for me [JIC]….and Italian sausage for the spaghetti sauce. He’s just brought in enough pellet bags for the stove. [WISH we had real wood stove in case of electrical outage!] Propane tank was just filled. I think we have enough hay bales….we SHOULD have a barn full if hay guy hadn’t messed up this winter. Hmph.
I normally do not do morning feeding. I don’t function well for a couple hours after waking up. This could be …challenging. THEN….the forecast calls for even MORE SNOW while DH is gone. We’ve just got pathways cleared and the melting is flooding some of them…which turns to ice overnight. I’ve been shoveling dirt/grit on ice….if any dirt/grit isn’t frozen down. One hillside gave me enough to sand the steps to goat house. I’m quite skilled by now at flinging grit from the shovel to land several yards away in a nice spread…..usually. LOL Those steps were running with melting/thawing water. The frozen “French drain” that isn’t working this year, is instead pouring water under the porch where we walk to enter the garage. I finally threw down some old hay from the goathouse….so when it freezes, there will be some grip. I did some of the same down in barnyard tonite. Everything is so locked down/frozen…and then running with melt water during the sunshine.
I have one option: My church folks might be able to bail me out if I’m really in over my head. One of them will be driving DH to airport….and later bring him back. So our car will be here with me. I could not possibly drive in city traffic and highway speeds to get home after dropping him off. So that’s handled. Church folks will help more if I’m stuck but none live that close. We’re all spread out in this county. But I’m rarely stuck to the point that I can’t do something….or adapt until I can. The only thing making me nervous is the additional snow and my muscle spasms if I shovel or sweep. I do have plenty of Nuprin…Hmph! I might just walk over the snow and only clear snow in absolutely needed places…… Pttft….which is all of it if I don’t want to slip on these steeeep hillsides. Ack.
Found out my old goat is having trouble jumping up to the shelf they love to sleep on in the goathouse. So I moved one of our car-lift ramps [for changing oil, etc] in there for the ‘old lady’ to use. Not sure if she’s figured out why it’s in her way tho…..LOL
Watched the moon tonite. It bothered the neighborhood dogs when it went dark. I watched thru binoculars….makes it look like the moon is illuminated from inside. Not so much when it’s fully occluded. It’s always quite a show and our area was very CLEAR tonite. Saw planes passing overhead and wondered what the sight looked like to them. I kept going out to look and back in to get warm….Brrrrrrr! Clear nights here feel like space air.
