Yesterday (January 21st), I had a pretty quiet day. It was extremely cold outside again, so I stayed indoors and caught up on paperwork. I did take periodic breaks, however, to watch the preparedness-related videos posted on the new “Modern Refugee” YouTube Channel. I particularly enjoyed the video in which he demonstrated how to process field corn so it can be eaten either as hominy or masa, and the one in which he showed the different types of supplies and tools he packs in his day pack versus his “get home” bag. The video in which he demonstrated how he makes candles using Crisco (or generic) shortening and used glass pasta sauce jars was also quite interesting.
