Hieronyma Textor, OldMtWoman, and Littlesister – If you end up purchasing any of those No Rinse Shampoo Caps (and/or any Bath-sized body wipes) and think that you’ll be wanting to store them for a long time, you might want to do what I do to extend their usable shelf-life as much as possible.  Even though they already come in pretty good packaging that doesn’t allow much evaporation, I always put them (still inside their original, sealed packages) inside a large Ziploc- style bag and seal up that outer bag.  I have found that they retain their moisture for an extra year or two on the shelf if you do that.  Presumably, if you didn’t want to do that and they ended up drying out somewhat in storage, you could always sort of “revive” them by spritzing them with fresh water and letting them sit for a few minutes – but it’s a hassle to have to do that, so I try to double-package them so they won’t dry out at all.

OldMtWoman – Please be careful!  No more slipping, O.K.? 🙂

Today, I uploaded 38 pages of World War II-era recipes from Great Britain to a book and file sharing group to which I belong.  Another member of that group then sent me about 66 more books and files full of recipes folks used back then to cook with their rationed ingredients.  It will take me a long time to go through them all but it should be a fun task!  I expect that a lot of those recipes would prove useful if a SHTF situation ever develops in this country that severely limits our access to ingredients we now consider standard but which either come from other countries or from parts of our country we might no longer be able to access if, for example, our transportation infrastructure was severely damaged, or if there were not enough healthy people left to drive the big rigs anymore.  Gee, guess I’d better stop writing now before I depress myself and everyone else, lol.
