Goodness, I’ve managed to lose 3 days since posting here? Well, I’ve done from scratch cooking everyday but that’s about it. Yesterday, I had to do my once a month grocery shopping to pick up fresh veggies primarily. By using up what I had on hand when this month started and items from my pantry and freezer, it’s amazing how little I’ve spent on food this month. But then there’s only myself and I don’t eat that much. I have spent money, however, on purchasing longterm food storage items as I’m following the list I found in the LDS book. I’ve decided whatever resources I use to stock-pile a year’s worth of food for one adult is money well spent – particularly if things ever get really crazy and paper money loses its value; and of course it’s there for my family when I no longer reside in this earthly tent….Christians on this forum will know what I mean.
Today I’m trying dehydrating cabbage and carrots…my first attempt using my new machine. Yesterday, was trying to vacuum seal some chicken breast but the new Food Saver just wouldn’t cooperate. Not sure what the problem was so will ask my helper who comes in tomorrow and knows how these things work.
Sure hope all ya’ll experiencing all the bad weather will stay safe.
