Thankful DH is back.  And just in time.  We both began to feel the “microbe attack” yesterday…even before he got home.  Actually, I’d been taking our immune booster and REAL Vit C off and on all week.  A physical strain like that is often an opening for the opportunistic little bacteria/viral varmints.  Hmph!  And so it turned out.

DH had his classic STIFF neck muscles by the time he got home last nite.  Uh oh.  He began dumping down our type of fortifications.  We’ve had to continue all day today.  We did AM and PM chores together.  I felt dreadful this morning with a headache making me dizzy every time I leaned over to scoop “horse products” from the frozen ground.  He had to come help me finish after he did the long walk with dog.  But together, we did it.

PM was not so bad….except I’d spent some time chucking and slinging shovelfuls of sand/grit/DG over the melted-snow-turned-ICE …on steps, etc.  I just get these pathways cleared and we have a warm day  [OK…I LIKE the warm days but…] …and the nearby snow drifts on these steep hillsides melt right into the paths.  Gaaagh!  This month has been the worst in years.  So being fatigued and battling with microbes and ICY paths that could be a drastic injury if we fall….  I’m not in the best of mind frame.  Hmph!

However, we both got a LOT of rest today.  Both took naps.  Taking immune pills and also ginger/lemon tea.  Drinking a LOT of fluids.  We are at WAR today.  Have periods of feeling much better and then later, not so good.  The battle rages but neither of us is truly fully sick.  Just in that preliminary stage.  A bit of cough.  A little sniffle.  Itchy eyes.  Chilled or hot…and switch again.  But all quite tolerable except the headache which disappeared after Nuprin.  I’m confident that we’ll be much improved by tomorrow.  Kept humidifier on all day to counter the dryness of the pellet stove.

OldMtWoman  ….kinda liked laying in bed reading one of my favorite SciFi books  🙂
