Yesterday I made a black bean burger. While it tasted good, it did not hold together. The flax flour was not enough to make it sticky, I suppose I should have made the chia-egg replacer. I am now encouraged to try some more veggie burgers. When I try a new recipe, I always make the recipes according to the directions. After that, I feel free to make my changes.
I also made French Fries. I had boiled potatoes earlier in anticipation of this. After making “fry” shapes, I deep fried them in the cast iron pan for just long enough to get warm, them removed them. Turned up the heat under the pan and put the potatoes back in again. We had crispy fries! Sprinkled with SeasonAll by Morton; could have added more onion and garlic powder to it.
For some reason, I love trying new recipes. That is an issue for me. I have too many cook books. Something I need to work on reducing.
