Hi all – I disappeared for a while due to exhaustion and time crunches. The good news is that daughter is turning herself in bed now, so we are all getting much better sleep, finally. It’s been 3 weeks since her cancer surgery with the wonderful outcome of “no cancer”! The surgery was hard on her, but she’s sitting up for several hours at a time now and took a shower without the bath lady today, just a little help from me. Occupational therapist is still coming in though.
I am still so tired I am having trouble thinking, though. Daughter has nausea all the time as an after-effect of all the antibiotics they gave her, so I’m trying to remember to give her bitters before a meal and ginger tea after a meal. She keeps having to remind me. She’s taking probiotics, too.
In the meantime, we’ve gotten a huge start on dejunking, and I would LOVE a dejunking/organizing challenge in February! Have already thrown out a lot of trash and have 2 garbage bags of stuff to give away at this point. Our priest delayed the house blessing for a week because the cold has hit the Midwest hard and nobody wants to travel much. I don’t blame him. That’s OK – the house will look even better by next week 🙂
@OldMt Woman: What an adventure! Praying that you and DH get well real soon. We use the Vitamin C and Zinc, but also elderberry, and sometimes a drop or 2 of poke root tincture. Have to be careful with the poke, but it will wipe out the flu fast if you take it a few days when you first feel it coming on.
@Muffy1938: I just use a “master list” that I have typed out. I can mark in pencil what I have, and then erase and change it when I need to. It’s nothing fancy, and probably not the best – but I am terrible about keeping things up if it’s on a computer. I make my living on the computer, but I just don’t trust it, and I want to do as little as possible that’s not money-making work on it.
@Molly Malone and everyone else: You’re inspiring!
